The Black Keys / Fever

A lot of brilliant things were released in 2011. We had films such as Drive, The Artist and Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2. We had TV shows such as Game of Thrones, Homeland and American Horror Story. Finally, we had albums by Bon Iver, Bombay Bicycle Club and Arctic Monkeys to name a few! By far the best release of this year however was El Camino by The Black Keys. Yesterday, we were treated to the first bit of new material from this incredible duo in three years. The first single from their imminent eighth album, Turn BlueThe single is entitled Fever and it seems the guys have decided to become more funky. Like…REALLY funky.

Black Keys

The intro to Fever is the funkiest and most electro we’ve heard from these guys and at first, it’s met with a diminutive amount of misperception yet a colossal quantity of anticipation as you’re waiting to see what they’ve produced after three years absence. Once the confusion fades and the anticipation is compressed by familiar sounding guitar riffs, drum beats from Patrick Carney and the flawless vocals of Dan Auerbach; it’s time to get the party poppers out, because…The Black Keys are back!!!

Turn Blue will be available 3rd May.
