After a lot of speculation, the Eavis clan have finally spoken out on the state of Glastonbury festival and it may not be what music fans were hoping for or ever wanted. It was reported some time ago that Worthy farm, the legendary site for the biggest music festival on earth may need some well deserved time off from the annual festival and in such case, the festival would be moved to another location to let the fields recuperate. Michael and daughter Emily Eavis reported yesterday that this will indeed be happening and in 2019 the festival will switch locations and even take a name change.
The new proposed name? The Variety Bazaar.
A location doesn’t appear to have been set but there were some reports in 2016 that it’d be moving around 100 miles north. However as these revelations come to pass there have been multiple examples of public displeasure, and music fans are taking to Twitter to let the world know exactly what they think about The Variety Bazaar. I suppose we’ll have to see what’s revealed next and whether it can reignite the excitement that Glastonbury normally receives.
Watch this space.
