After a recent screening, Rolling Stones and The Faces guitarist Ronnie Wood was notified of a lesion on his lung for which he had successfully removed today and after a successful surgery is now resting up and getting himself in perfect shape for The Stones upcoming European tour. The tour doesn’t land in the UK at any point this time (dammit) but be that as it may, we’re pleased to hear of his imminent recovery and send out some love and a massive GET WELL SOON to one of the leading icons in the British rock n roll industry and its entire history.
Whether it was with the Jeff Beck group in his earliest days as a musician, alongside “his old mucka” Rod Stewart with rock n roll pioneers The Faces, or as Keith Richards weaving partner in one of the worlds most iconic and instantly recognisable rock bands The Rolling Stones, Wood has done it all with incredible talent, a substantial understanding and love for the music he’s playing and above all else, a huge smile on his face.
It’s funny to think that Ronnie only joined the Rolling Stones in 1975, after the band had already enjoyed success for the previous decade and more, but without him onstage alongside Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Keith Richards, the band just wouldn’t seem the same anymore. Either way, this is not only a get well soon message but a love letter of sorts to one of the legends of rock n roll and we look forward to even more to come Oh, and GET YOUR ARSES BACK TO THE UK AS WELL, please.
